Laserscanning

To achieve best results in visual effects post production, I am frequently recording film-sets, locations, buildings and objects to be able to use them later in postproduction. It allows to create convincing effects, believable reflections, virtual productions and much more. Especially on massive sets and projects with complicated VFX challenges it is always a very useful tool and a massive time saver.

Capturing requires time, that needs to be scheduled properly. Same for data post-processing before handing over to CG department. Laserscanning is a tool for very specific needs and not a tool that needs to be used often. In many cases there are much faster methods compared to Laserscanning. In this example I scanned a large and abandoned industrial site in Germany and used the digitized version for a virtual production car project.
